Quantum Foundation is honored to celebrate frontline heroes across Palm Beach County who have gone above and beyond in their service in the memory of our hero of 22+ years, Marie Thorpe, who always went above and beyond in serving others. Quantum Foundation will be awarding $2,500 annually to an everyday hero for their selfless services that go beyond the call of their duties each year. And another $2,500 to be awarded to the nominating organization.

Name: Laveaux Narcisse

Organization: Hands Together for Haitians

Position: IT Coordinator

Years of service: 16

Hands Together for Haitians’ mission is to assist the Haitian immigrant population with the transition to living in the United States. The organization provides basic needs support such as food to its clients as well as assistance overcoming barriers to education, healthcare, social resources, counseling, and more. Laveaux has volunteered for Hands Together for Hatians since 2005. Over that time he has been critical to the organization and its clients by consistently managing the office, providing one-on-one assistance to clients and teaching an adult computer and technology course. This past year, Laveaux has helped Hands Together for Haitians distribute food to hundreds of families per week. Quote from the nominator: “One thing that has always struck me about Laveaux over the 16 years that I have worked with him is his gentleness, kindness, and respect for others, especially in the most difficult situations. His leadership abilities are exemplary, and this is evident in his many roles.
