Palm Beach Venture Philanthropy and Quantum Foundation support critical initiatives of Neighborhood Renaissance to enhance social and physical conditions in Coleman Park. Quantum Foundation provided $230,000 for the Coleman Park Renaissance affordable housing project, which will create 43 units of affordable housing and commercial space for minority-owned businesses. Additionally, the foundation funds the Director of Community Engagement, who offers financial literacy, leadership training, and advocacy to prepare residents for new housing opportunities.
PBVP has committed $500,000 to restore the Historic Roosevelt High School Campus. In partnership with the Historic Industrial/Roosevelt Alumni Association, the School District of Palm Beach County, the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, and local stakeholders, The Venture is excited to see this project completed. The restored campus will serve as a pillar of Coleman Park, featuring academic facilities, a gymnasium for community use, a Black history museum, research library, and media center.
In the neighborhood with the lowest life expectancy in Palm Beach County, The Venture is partnering with the West Palm Beach Housing Authority and the Healthcare District of Palm Beach County to provide critical services to Coleman Park. The development on Tamarind Ave. will include a health clinic, housing and social services, and administrative offices. The clinic will offer primary care, behavioral healthcare, dental care, and pharmacy services, while the Housing Authority will connect residents to housing opportunities and social services.
